I celebrated Independence Day by walking in downtown of Dubai. Nothing signifies to me my freedom more acutely than walking on my own in the street of Dubai . Since leaving Pakistan celebrating 14th August has become a subdued affair but it continues to be a day to remember the people who risked everything they had so I could wear my identity with pride. Freedom lies in exploring one’s own journey. Freedom is about free will, it is what brings about movement and change. It means self expression. Freedoms is you being you and me being me.

So, today let’s come together to celebrate one’s differences. Happy Independence Day Pakistan . To belong is a comforting feeling and I’m grateful for it .
